Post Adoption Support
Adoption is a lifelong journey. ACI is committed to providing innovative, compassionate and ethical services that honor all members of the adoption community. Part of that commitment is providing post adoption support. Having the availability of helpful resources after an adoption is crucial for the well-being of all those touched by adoption, birth parents, adoptive parents, and adoptees. Not everyone will partake in the support, but it should always be offered and available if needed.
Ways Support Can Be Offered
- Therapeutic services tailored to the specific needs and circumstances of the individual.
- Group therapy or support groups where those touched by adoption can connect with others who have experienced similar situations
- Individual counseling sessions to address feelings of grief, loss, and adjustment.
- Peer counseling – connecting with others who have been through similar experiences for peer support and networking opportunities.
